Load a Base Map under (or over) a Data Points and Contour Map

1. Please, download the example (BaseMap.zip , 10KB) for that lesson. Move the Example.dat and Base_Map.gif files to new empty directory. The Example.dat file include 2 points
X, Y, Z (Value), Name
1, 1, 0.1, Point_1
2, 2, 0.5, Point_2
The picture Base_Map.gif has images for those points (green circles).
 

2. Start 3DField and open Example.dat file


3. Double-click the Load tree item under Base Map tree item and open Base_Map.gif file. The texture displays in center of window and the green circles draws in invalid places.

4. Double-click the Base Map tree item, select the base map and click the Assigning coordinates button.

5. Double-click the location of Point_1 point on texture (the cross in green circle). Enter (1.0, 1,0) coordinates for this point. It are X, Y coordinates for Point_1 data point. Press the OK button.

6. Double-click the location of Point_2 point on texture (the cross in green circle). Enter (2.0, 2,0) coordinates for this point. It are X, Y coordinates for Point_2 data point. Press the OK button.

7. Select the base map with new locations and click the OK button.

You can set on the Foreground and Transparent option.

8. Now the base map displays correctly.

9. The contour map draws under transparent base map, if  the Foreground and Transparent option is set on for base map..
